At a glance

Data Not CollectedThe developer does not collect any data from this app.

The short version: Pip & Flicker does not collect any personal information. There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no accounts. The game never sends anything to the developer. The game does not run a server of its own, and it does not connect to one.

The full policy

What is kept on your device

The game saves two small files inside its own folder on your iPhone:

The game also remembers a few small things that help it plan its notes from the forest (see "Notifications" below), such as the times of day you usually open the game and the distance of your last run. These also stay on your device.

When a BLOOMBURST happens, the game takes a picture of the game screen so you can look at it after the run. Those pictures stay in the game's folder and are deleted when your next run starts.

Deleting the app deletes all of this from the device.

Start over (Settings → More, tap twice) erases your progress on this iPhone and in your iCloud copy. It keeps your purchase and your settings.

What goes through Apple

The game uses a few of Apple's own services. The developer never receives what they handle and cannot see it.

iCloud (your progress on all your devices). If you are signed in to iCloud, a copy of your progress is kept in your own private iCloud storage, so it follows you to a new phone and to your other devices. Apple stores it in your account. Your settings are not copied, only your progress. (Apple's privacy policy)

Game Center (leaderboards and achievements). If you are signed in to Game Center, the game sends your best distance, your total number of BLOOMBURSTs and your achievement progress to Apple's Game Center. They then appear on the leaderboards. The leaderboard screen in the game shows other players' Game Center nicknames and pictures, which come from Apple. You can manage Game Center, including who can see you, in iPhone Settings → Game Center. (Game Center & Privacy)

The purchase ("Unlock the Full Forest"). The one-time unlock is bought through the App Store. Apple handles the payment. The game is told only whether the unlock is owned. It never sees your name, your Apple Account or your payment details. Parents can use Ask to Buy and Screen Time to approve or block purchases. (Apple Media Services privacy)

Sharing a picture. On the Game Over screen you can tap Share to send a BLOOMBURST picture through Apple's share sheet. Nothing is sent unless you choose where it goes. If you pick "Save Image", iOS asks for permission to add the picture to your photo library. The game can only add the picture. It cannot see your photos.

Notifications

The game can show a few "notes from the forest": at most one a day, and no more than three in the week after you last played. After that week they stop. They are set up on your device by the game itself and never come from a server.

At first they arrive quietly in Notification Centre, without a sound and without asking. Banners and Lock Screen notes appear only if you say yes to Apple's question. You can turn the notes off any time in the game (Settings → Notes from the forest) or in iPhone Settings → Notifications.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will appear in the game (Settings → Privacy) and at https://pipandflicker.adrianburcin.com/privacy, with a new date at the top.
