Write to usAbout the game
Pip & Flicker is a running game for iPhone, made for kids and families. Pip runs through an ancient forest with Flicker, her little light. Swipe to change lanes, jump and slide. Gather what the forest offers and make friends with its creatures. Run from dawn into the night, and set off a BLOOMBURST when your chain grows long enough.
The Dawn forest is free to play for as long as you like. A one-time purchase, Unlock the Full Forest, opens the rest of the day. There are no ads, no subscriptions and no accounts.
Quick answers
Questions and answers
Getting your purchase back (Restore)
If you bought the full forest before, on this device or another one with the same Apple Account:
- Open Settings in the game.
- Tap Restore at the bottom of the screen.
- The full forest unlocks again. You never pay twice.
If Restore says there is nothing to restore, check that you are signed in to the App Store with the Apple Account that made the purchase. If a child asked to buy with Ask to Buy, the forest unlocks by itself once a parent approves.
Refunds
Apple handles all payments and refunds. To ask for a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com. If something is wrong with the game, please also write to us — we would rather fix it. Your legal rights are not affected.
Your progress on all your devices
If you are signed in to iCloud, your progress is saved in your own iCloud and comes to your other iPhones that use the same Apple Account. This includes your best distance, Seeds, companions, Field Book and the full-forest unlock.
- Progress is sent when a run ends and when you leave the game. It is fetched when the game opens and when you come back to it.
- If you played on two devices, the game combines them and nothing is lost. Your best distance, friends and discoveries are kept from both. Your Seeds come from the device with the most progress, so they are never counted twice.
- Settings (sound, text size and so on) belong to each device and are not copied.
If progress does not appear on a new device, make sure both devices are signed in to iCloud with the same Apple Account. Then open the game on the old device once, so it can send its latest progress.
Settings you can change
All of these are in the game's Settings screen:
- Notes from the forest: a few friendly notifications a week, at most. They stop by themselves when you stop playing. Tap the switch to turn them on or off. At first they arrive quietly in Notification Centre. To also see them on the Lock Screen, tap Show notes on the Lock Screen and answer Apple's question. If you said "Don't Allow" earlier, the switch opens iPhone Settings, where you can turn them back on.
- Audio Guide: play the run by ear. Sounds tell you what is coming in each lane. Turn it on or off with the Audio Guide switch. Choose a Pace (Medium is for practice and its distances are not posted on the leaderboard; Hard is the regular speed), set the Guide sounds volume, and tap Learn the sounds to hear each one. While VoiceOver is running, the Audio Guide is always on.
- Text size: under Vision, move the Text size slider: 100 %, 115 %, 130 % or 150 %.
- Haptics: under Feel, turn vibrations on or off.
- Reset settings (under More) puts every setting back the way it was at first. Your progress is kept.
Starting fresh
On the main menu, open Settings and tap Start over (under More), then tap it once more to confirm. This erases your progress — Seeds, fruit, friends, zones, medals and best distance — on this iPhone and in your iCloud copy, so your other devices start over too. Your purchase of the full forest is kept, and your settings stay as they are. It cannot be undone.
Flashing lights
The game has lightning flashes in storms and a bright burst of light at a BLOOMBURST. If you or anyone in your family has ever had a seizure or epilepsy, read the health notes in our Terms of Use (section 5) before playing.
Something isn't working?
- The game feels slow or stutters: close the game fully (swipe it away in the app switcher) and open it again.
- Leaderboards are empty: sign in to Game Center in iPhone Settings → Game Center.
- The price or Restore doesn't load: check your internet connection and try again in a moment.
